The Return of Black Bear

I am BACK! I got a 3 miler in on Thursday and a 4 miler in at high noon in the heat and humidity on Saturday. My heart rate is pretty comparable to where it was (not bad for a 4 week off period). At 75 degrees and 90 % humidity, I was only about 10 seconds per mile slower than a month ago. I'll be starting back out running every other day for a week or two.

Bring it on!

I could post a few choice pictures of the bruises on my shins from going up and down the ladder during my house painting hiatus. But, I will spare the sympathy.

P.S. I am glad I didn't end up running the Grandmas Marathon in Duluth. It sounded pretty hot 76 degrees at 10:00 a.m. I will have to hold off now for a fall marathon for my BQ.

  4. Woohoo...the running Black Bear has returned!

No kidding on Grandma's...I keep thinking "gee, that looks like a nifty marathon to run" (well, maybe not with 1950's words like gee and nifty), but it seems like all I ever hear about that race is that it's hot. And humid. Probably a match made in hell for marathoning.
